Rev. Dennis J Hankins, Sr Pastor

Bro Hankins was raised in South Houston, TX where he graduated from High School, then attended Rice University’s Shephard School of Music studying Double Bass and taking voice and conducting. He graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO with a Graduate of Theology; Baptist Christian College with a B.A. in Education; and Louisiana Baptist University with a Masters in Business Administration. Bro Hankins also has a number of hours toward his Ph.D. in Biblical Studies at Louisiana Baptist University.
Pastor Hankins started ministry as a youth director in 1979 at Bible Baptist Church in Preston, Missouri, where he later became Associate Pastor. During his early years of ministry he helped Preston Dulaney start the Bible Baptist Church of Camndenton, MO and later Elkton Baptist Temple. In 1984 Pastor and Mrs Hankins moved to Houston, TX where he became the Jr and Sr High principal at South Shaver Baptist School. He was also the Single Adult Minister, Music Minister and later the Minister of Education at South Shaver Baptist Church. In 1995, he moved to Nacogdoches, TX and became Pastor of Stallings Drive Baptist Church. In 1998, He move here to Galveston, TX and became Executive Pastor at Bible Baptist Galveston. In 2001, Pastor Hankins became Co-Pastor and in February of 2002 stepped into the position of Senior Pastor at Bible Baptist.
Bro Dennis Married Teresa Faulkner in 1980 and they have enjoyed serving the Lord together over these past 29 years. They have 2 children, Kimberly Hankins, who serves as Leader of Student Ministries, and Rebecca who is a junior in high school.

Kimberly Hankins, Student Ministries Leader

Texan born and bred, Kimberly has recently "returned to her roots" by moving back to her home state and home church here in Galveston. A recent graduate of Liberty University, Kimberly is leading our youth ministry in their new ProActivE TeeNs movement. Her degree is in Math, with a minor in Bible, and she is bringing a fresh new outlook to our youth department.
